Why it matters
The recirculating ball steering box wears internally over time, creating a dead spot on-centre with slop either side, worse than uniform play. This is a genuine upgrade over a stock replacement, not just a remanufactured unit, tighter tolerances and a quicker ratio for noticeably firmer, more precise steering feel.

The box is Stage 2 of the OBS steering upgrade. To get the full benefit, the linkage needs to be tight first and the shaft should follow:

- Pitman Arm — bolts directly onto this box. Replace it at the same time if it hasn't been done.
