Melling M55, standard volume (M55HV available as a high volume option). Cross-references to Mahle Clevite 6011057, Sealed Power 224-4146, and Elgin EM-55. No confirmed GM OEM number yet.

Fits

1988 to 1995 TBI V8 only. The 1996 to 1998 Vortec engines use a different pump, not this one, check your engine before ordering.

Why it matters

Pump wear shows up as low oil pressure, particularly at idle once the engine's hot, and high mileage combined with the running temperatures here brings that wear forward. Worth checking oil pressure before assuming it's the gauge or sender at fault.
