While you're in there
The centre link is the spine of the front steering linkage. By the time it needs replacing, everything bolted to it is usually in the same condition:
- Pitman Arm — one end of the centre link. If the link is worn, check the pitman arm too.
- Idler Arm — the other end. Same age, same wear.
- Idler Arm Bracket — replace it with the idler arm and you won't be back doing this again in a year.
- OBS-UAE Front End Steering Rebuild Kit — everything above plus tie rod ends, matched and sorted in one kit. One alignment, done properly.
- OBS-UAE Steering Box Upgrade Kit — once the linkage is fresh, the steering box becomes the limiting factor. This is the upgrade that removes the on-centre dead spot entirely.
