AC Receiver-Drier — Land Rover Defender 90/110
The receiver-drier filters moisture and debris from the refrigerant circuit. On a Defender that has spent its life in UAE conditions, an old or original drier should be treated as a consumable — the desiccant will be saturated, and a contaminated drier will accelerate compressor wear and cause poor cooling.
Replace the receiver-drier any time the AC system is opened. After an internal compressor failure in particular, this is essential — reusing a contaminated drier will shorten the life of the new compressor significantly.
