Why it matters
The orifice tube meters refrigerant flow and traps debris, a clogged or wrong-spec tube causes poor cooling even with an otherwise healthy system. IMPORTANT: Replace together with the compressor and accumulator/receiver-drier (OBSAE-GMT4-00112 and OBSAE-GMT4-00114) whenever the compressor has failed internally. Reusing an old orifice tube after a compressor failure is close to guaranteed to fail again within weeks, it traps the metal debris that destroys the new compressor. This is well corroborated across independent sources, not a single-supplier opinion.
