The evaporator sits behind the dashboard and is where the actual cooling happens. A leaking, corroded, or blocked evaporator means little to no cold air reaching the cabin regardless of how healthy the rest of the system is.

On an R107 this age, evaporator corrosion and pinhole leaks are a known failure point — particularly on cars that have sat unused for extended periods in UAE conditions. Access requires significant dashboard disassembly. If the dashboard is already open for any other reason, inspect the evaporator and replace it rather than refit the original.
