The condenser sits in an exposed position on the Defender and takes more stone, sand, and dust damage than most vehicles. Fin damage and partial blockage are common — and in UAE summer heat, a partially blocked condenser pushes system pressures beyond design limits and accelerates compressor wear regardless of everything else.
Replace the condenser if it won't flush clean after an internal compressor failure. A contaminated condenser will damage a new compressor. Inspect the fins at every AC service and clean carefully — do not use high-pressure water directly on the fins.
