AC Compressor Conversion Kit — York/Tecumseh Replacement
Early R107 SL models left the factory with large piston-type York or Tecumseh compressors. These are increasingly difficult to source new and are not well-suited to R134a. This conversion kit replaces the original unit with a modern, R134a-compatible compressor using the correct brackets and fittings for early-car fitment.
If your compressor has failed internally, replace it together with the receiver-drier and TXV expansion valve as a set. Internal compressor debris contaminates the whole system — fitting only the compressor is close to guaranteed to fail again within weeks.
